Where cruise ships dock in Corfu

Corfu cruise ships dock at Neo Limani (New Port) on the island's east coast, about 2 km west of Corfu Old Town. Unlike Rome's distant Civitavecchia, UNESCO-listed streets are genuinely close to the gangway.

Your berth assignment matters: most passengers step off directly at Neo Limani, but peak-season mega-ships occasionally anchor in Garitsa Bay and tender ashore. Check your cruise app the night before — tendering adds 30–45 minutes to your planning window.

Corfu appears on Eastern Mediterranean and Adriatic itineraries from April through October, with heaviest traffic June to September when multiple ships can share a single day.

Getting from the port to Corfu Old Town

Corfu Old Town is 2 km from Neo Limani — roughly 5–10 minutes by taxi (€10–12 to Spianada) or 20–25 minutes walking along the coastal road past Garitsa Bay.

Blue Line 15 buses run from the port area toward town in season (every 15–20 minutes, €1.70–2). Excursion coaches and minivans meet passengers at the terminal exit with name boards or line flags.

Paleokastritsa sits 25 km northwest (35–45 minutes by road). Achilleion and Kanoni are 10–15 minutes south. Pre-book taxis or excursions for coastal sights — do not assume walk-up availability on multi-ship days.

Facilities and practicalities

Neo Limani offers toilets, seating areas, souvenir kiosks and a taxi rank outside the terminal. ATMs and larger shops sit closer to Old Town — withdraw euros on the ship if needed.

Currency is the euro. Greek is the local language; English is widely spoken in tourist areas. Download offline maps — terminal Wi-Fi is unreliable.

Corfu is compact and generally safe. Watch cobblestones in Campiello and belongings in crowded Spianada when three ships are in port.

Return-to-ship timing

Confirm all-aboard time — usually 30–60 minutes before departure. Keep a 60–90 minute buffer beyond your expected travel time, especially returning from Paleokastritsa on summer afternoons when coastal traffic builds.

Old Town independent walkers should book a return taxi 90 minutes before all-aboard. Ship excursions carry delay guarantees; reputable independent operators track departure but will not wait if you separate from the group.

Tender operations require an earlier return — allow extra margin to queue for the tender boat back to your ship.
